Hull City Association Football club, based in Kingston upon Hull, is an English football club, and a new member of the Premier league. Founded in 1904, the clubs crowning moment came in 1930, in cup competition, when Hull City reached the semi-finals of the FA cup. Hull City was originally part of the older second division, which in 1992-1993, became the football league division. In 1909-1910 season and again in the 2007-2008 season, Hull City finished in 3rd, their highest ranking of their history. After finishing 3rd in the 2007-2008 season, the club got the honor of joining the prestigious Premier League in 2008-2009.
Wearing their black and amber pinstriped shirts and black shorts Hull City played at Boothferry Park for most of their history. However, they moved to their current home KC stadium in 2002.
Throughout their history Hull City have been known as the tigers, a nickname the team was given because of their black and amber pinstriped shirts, black shorts and black socks. The team has tried a few different looks throughout its history. This includes a sky blue shirt and a plain amber shirt. Today the club wears the original pinstriped black and amber shirt with black shorts and black socks for their home jersey. The team's away kit is a flint color gray shirt with the black shorts and black socks. Hull City’s current kit also has a logo, an amber shield with a lion's head that reads on top “Hull City A.F.C” and below the head “The Tigers.”
